The Project. An update of the City’s Industrial District Regulations and Design Guidelines to implement General Plan policies that encourage the establishment and expansion of knowledge and innovation-based industry clusters and promote a desirable and attractive amenity-rich industrial environment with minimal detrimental impacts the community and surrounding properties.
The Result. User-friendly regulations and design guidelines that serve as an effective tool to grow the Industrial Corridor as an economic and employment center containing a healthy balance of traditional manufacturing and information and technology-based uses. The update included expanding the City’s list of allowed uses, updating standards to attract quality development, establishing subdistricts to reflect unique characteristics and needs of individual areas, and addressing compatibility issues with neighboring uses.
